What Am I?
Hi folks, can you help me? You see, I'm just a wee little baby, barely have my eyes open, but this big human keeps oohing and ahhhing over me and holding me, turning and twisting me in the light and scratching her head.
She says I didn't know what color I wanted to be, so I just became a merle, but she can't find any of my rattie cousins that have a look like mine.
She said if I came here, you guys could help tell her what my color is, and what my markings are. I'm hoping it's cool enough that I don't have to go meet the snakes, I hear they hug a bit too....um....enthusiastically.

Re: What Am I?
I've got an accidental litter from 2 blazed parents that apparently carry the buff/red eye dilute gene, but the buff babies now appear two-toned sort of like yours here. Their head is the normal buff color, basically the "hood" area, but the rest of their body is darker, kind of a chocolate color like the parents.
I wasn;t going to breed the 2 blazed parents but they were accidently put together so oh well. No megacolon yet luckily. I've read that not all blazes are the type that can have megacolon.

I'm pretty sure she's a mink. It's hard to see because there's glare on the photo, but I'm pretty sure that's what she is.
As for markings, looks to be split cap/stripe.

Partial litter of minks I had. Minks can pretty variable in color.
Now, the picture doesn't show it, but you made reference to maybe her face being two shades of color. Which is possible, seeing as minks can come in merle too. I more often see pearl merle, than mink merle..but both are pretty rare.
Usually merling appears darker, looking kind of like "rusting splotches". Lighter splotches could just be discoloration/mismarked.

Re: What Am I?
From what I can find on her pattern, Robin, she'd be called a Cap Stripe, also known as a Reverse Blaze. The head coloring is Merle (I can see some small splash spots).

Very pretty little thing, hope it's a female.
