Re: New Boa pics and info
most likely just your common boa, Bci. Your wife has great taste, I really like the blank head and the reduced saddles. Has that pedigreed sorta look.

Re: New Boa pics and info
I'm thinking normal/pastel BCI.
She seems to have a lot of color, a lot of pink running down her sides, and looks very clean with a bright red tail... which would put her in the pastel group. The shape of the saddles and the color of the tail make me think BCI.
Do you know how old she is? I'm curious because it looks like she's not silver like most babies... wondering if she's already grown out of it, or if she's just extremely colorful for her age.
In any case, she's a damn fine looker, that's for sure... and she looks very nosey I can never get enough of those curious "Hey, who are you? What are you doin'? Can I do that too?" faces.
EDIT: If you want to do some scale counting, just to be sure of her locality, take a look at Gus Rentfro's website: www.riobravoreptiles.com He tells you want to look for in the different subspecies... the differences in saddles, scales, color, etc.

Re: New Boa pics and info
Thanks for the comments. I don't know the age but if I had to guess I'd say at the least a yearling. She looks a little thin...not bad but you can tell she probably hasn't been fed in a couple weeks but she is definitely "well started" size wise. She really doesn't have much if any silver to her, I am liking her more and more...but I have to remember to let my wife take care of her!
Its funny...my wife already realizes how big boas get, but I made sure to explain to her again as she was looking. You have to realize my wife is..."vertically challenged" and is maybe a couple inches over 5'. That said she works with horses every day and she definitely knows how to keep them in line so we'll see how she does with the boa. I have the utmost confidence in her and I think the thought of her stepping forward and wanting a second reptile...a snake got me more excited than anything this weekend. She has big 'ol bearded dragon that's pushing 6 or 7yrs now that was her first reptile.
