Securing Accurite Probe

How are you securing your Accurite probe? I have mine stuck inside the tub right over top of the flexwatt, then covered with aspen. The probe keeps getting knocked off and I go to check there temps and its reading like 83 so I then know that the probe has become unstuck from the tub.

I'm a firm believer in not using tape. But I use a tiny little piece of tape to tape it down. Under the newspaper.

Properly cured silicon sealant or glue gun glue would hold it safely while still being easily removed and would present no sticky risk to snakes at all I think.

I have used low stick painters blue tape for years. It can not do any harm to snake because it is extremely easy to remove. I tape probe to bottom of tub over heating element. I use this on over 30 snake tubs, never had anything even close to a problem. Of course it is under the newspaper under the warm hide. Even if a snake was to get it on them this tape is designed for delicate surfaces and comes of without harm. I am a high end designer/contractor and have used this stuff for over 20 years on many delicate areas. It sticks pretty good to smooth tubs but pulls of without any problem and on irregular(not smooth) surfaces it barely sticks. This is the ONLY kind of tape i would use in a snake enclosure. Regular tapes are WAY more adhesive(10x). it costs $5+ bucks a roll but will last along time and well worth it in my opinion and experience.

That's what I use, too. Is blue painters tape. It has such low adhesion that even if it comes undone and sticks to the snake, no worries, it'll just come right off. But I wouldn't use masking tape, or electrical tape, etc. That is risky. And I personally don't want to use silicone as I want to be able to easily remove the probe for tub cleaning.

Ok, Thanks guys I have a couple of rolls of the blue painters tape already, so I will try it and see how it works. Do you just tape the probe or do you tape the wire also from where it enters the tub to the probe?
