What color would you call this?

Not the greatest shot and in bad lighting. The closest I can akin him to is deer colored. Way to light to be agouti and I cannot find anything similar.
Just wish he was a girl, but I think I am going to hold him back anyway.

It's agouti or cinnamon. Once she has her molt, then she may be darker or lighter.

Thanks Becky I have several in the litter who are agouti, so I really hope he gets lighter. When do they usually molt? (see I learn something new every day)

It can vary, but usually a few weeks after they are weaned.

Re: What color would you call this?

In rats, fawn is more of an orangey color and they have ruby eyes. Definitely agouti or cinnamon agouti.

Re: What color would you call this?

the color will change several times over a couple months, I don't recall the exact schedule but it seems the babies change almost daily & then weekly until they are two to 3 months old... as for the color, it could go lighter or darker

Re: What color would you call this?

Nope not a fawn. I have two fawns (a self and a hooded) and they are as Becky said more orangey, sort of like a beige but with way more reddish/orange tone to it - a very pretty color. Can't show you due to my broken dang camera!
