    Another awesome book!

    The Talisman
    by Stephen King/Peter Staub

it's a collaboration of these 2 awesome authors, and I've read it before about 4 years ago and just found it under my bed, and im re-reading it, I remember almost being depressed after the book ended, not because it was sad but because I was so attached to the characters I didn't want it to end, some of you liked the last book I suggested so I figured i'd just throw this one out there..and for all you who aren't fans of horror, this book is still a good read. It isn't the typical Stephen King book. It has hints of fantasy, horror, drama, and is an amazing story. It's about a young kid who is constantly moving around the country with his mother avoiding his "uncle" and just struggling to get by, they stop in Maine(almost all king books are in Maine) and he finds out his mom is dying of cancer and the only way to save her is to travel to another dimension and find a magical talisman. it sounds corny until you read it. when my grandpa gave it to me he simply said it was a fantasy which really isnt my kinda thing but once you read it, it really doesnt feel like a fantasy. it feels more like you're reading about strange things that you know CANT happen but they are. I honestly dont know how to explain this book correctly but I definitely thing you guys should check it out.

    Re: Another awesome book!

OH this is one of my favorite books. I miss Wolfy, I really need to read it again. I think I will read that one too, and I will read the second one. I haven't read the black house (is that the title of the second one?) yet.

You are right this is an incredible book, a little slow going at first but once you get into it, its awesome. Its been almost 9 years since I read it. I think I may even still have it packed away somewhere.

ALSO, they also made a movie out of it. I think its in production or they are starting production. Supposed to be out fairly soon though. Definitely read the book before watcing the movie. I read Memoirs of A Geisha before I watched the movie, and let me tell ya they totally botched the film. They left out some of the most important parts.

    Re: Another awesome book!

My mom said the same thing about Black House, I don't think ever finished it either.

If you want to read a really crazy book. I can't remember the Title but it was written by Tabatha King, his wife. I will see if I can find it, its about being out in the woods and some inbred mountain men or something like that. I couldn't finish it, I think I was too young lol. She is a gruesome writer, she makes Stephen look like he writes fairy tales.

EDIT : Found it, its Called " The Trap" its where her and her son take a trip back home and find some strange men in her home... its really graphic. Thats the only one I have partially read from her early years. I think she has lightened up a bit.

Yeah I think she writes Romance novels or something along the lines of that now. Wrong Turn, I wouldn't go out into the woods forever after watching that movie. I still have a hard time with it. It sucks too because I live in North Idaho and we are Surrounded by national forrest lol
