    NERD-New England Reptile Distributors

I wanted to share my positive experience with NERD. I was up in that area this week and couldn't help but be drawn to NERD. From all the amazing pictures, stories and my friendship with Kara...I just had to make the visit. Being the cue that I am it was only natural that I just dropped in to surprise Kara. When I pull up the building I am shocked at the size. It's HUGE! So I walk into the pet store(Zoo Creatures) section to find the best pet store I have ever been in. I have been in a few in my day. The place was well organized, bustling with people and offered awesome diversity. Now I make my way into the reptile section to hunt down my prey. One of the friendly staff asks me if I had any questions and what my interests where. What a nice change from the usual dodging behavior of my pet store staff. I ask if Kara could be paged. He does so right away and I announce myself as The Great Adam Wysocki. I knew this trick would surely get Kara down stairs. Sure enough she comes charging in ready to kick some butt in 30 seconds flat. We shared some laughs and she took time to show me around even though she clearly had 1.8 millions other things going on. We even spent some time with the Kookaburras, I even got to hand feed them mice! The outside I saw the single most beautiful alligator I have ever seen. I also had something I needed to get back to. Being the generous person she is, Kara invited me to come back that night for snake looking and dinner with the staff. How in the world could I say no that that?!?!? So I come back in the evening and Kara is kind enough to show me the rest of the store and take me upstairs. Upstairs=wow! A purpose built well thought out reptile facility! Top notch and very clean! I really liked the layout and how well organized everything was. I got to see Kevin darting around making it all work. He has the energy of a young hummingbird! We looked at some wild looking retics, colorful boas, insane monitors, electric geckos, bangin bloods, tiny florescent corns and...ummm...oh yeah..every single flavor of ball python you can dream up!! I have to say though, as amazing as NERD's photography is, the pictures don't even come close to displaying the colors of some of these morphs. Simply amazing! While in the big lizard room I was admiring the caging and asked Kara who the manufacture was "Kevin made those"...amazing! Then we went to dinner with the staff. What a wild and crazy bunch! You could tell they all where very close and knew how to joke around. I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. McCurley Sr and he treated us to dinner, what a gentleman. So then it was back to NERD for a final walk thru and goodbyes. I have to say that Zoo Creatures, Nerd and Kara/Kevin really have it all going on. Thanks again for taking the time to make a dream come true for me

Sounds like you had a great time. I'm still trying to refine my Kookaburra call with my didjeridoo. But main question of all....no pics?

TRUTH!! What a perfect analogy! LOL

Kevin and Kara are the BEST! Love 'em to pieces and I can't wait for my next chance to get up there!

And just in case anyone is skeptical of Chris' glowing descriptions....been there...lived there for a few days....and it's all TRUE and then some!

We are going to be up in that neck of the woods next summer. We will defiantly add it to our agenda. Sounds like an awesome place……

From the few times I've talked to Kara, I gotta admit she seems like an amazing person. I can only imagine what it would be like to wander the NERD floors for a bit!

But yea, I second Raul in saying you shoulda had your camera Cue, the more pics the better!

Chris--you described it beautifully Though I'm going to tell Kev next time I'm there that he is a hummingbird and see how he reacts
