    Question dumeril boa?

Well, I was just offered a 5'ft long, full grown male dumeril boa. The problem is, Ive been trying to look up information and care sheets on them but Im having trouble finding any good ones. From what Ive gotten out of them, it seems like a very easy and low-maintness snake to own, but I was hoping maybe someone could let me know of a good care sheet or of their own exsperience with them? Please and thanks

If you follow the standard BCI caresheets you find, you will be fine. They are a burrowing boa is the only difference. Either use extra aspen or mulch, or use crumbled up newspaper for them to hide in. They don't need to eat as much as a RTB will either. They have a slower metabolism. I feed my yearling male and 2 year old females every two to three weeks.

And an adult male Dum will only need to eat a lump sized meal every month about I believe. Would this be about right Jimi?

Yea, you have to be pretty patient with the feeding because if they dont want too eat they will completely ignore the mouse like it isnt even there, but besides that he has to be one of the most docile and most affectionate snakes i own.

They're awesome boas.. one of my favorite species. Quite docile, and I've never had one refuse a meal (excepting the one sick one I had..)

I'll second the infrequent meals. They become overweight easily! My adult male eats every 2-3 weeks, but you wouldn't guess it looking at him.
