Re: fires!!!!
Fires make the Black eyed lucy's, which are awesome imo. Fires, like pastels, tend to clean up any morph. Also, some of the adult fires that I've seen (which were only 2-3 years old) tend to lighten as they age instead of dull.

Re: fires!!!!
Personally I would spend my money on Lessers over Fires. Something about a nice clean white snake that I like!
Do a search for Dan Wolfe on Fauna. He has a lot of good feedback.

Only one Black Eyed Lucy has been produced that doesn't have orange blotches.
Now if you had Photoshop you could definitely make them all white!

Re: fires!!!!
Just my thoughts...
Lessers are nicer looking than fires
Lessers make a nicer looking super
Lessers are less expensive
Kind of a no brainer to me...but to each their own!

Re: fires!!!!
In my humble opinion, fires have much more crossing potential then Lessers. I like the yellow blotching on the Black eyed Lucies.
Can the blotching be accentuated (sp?) with the Pastel or darkened with another mutation. Not sure that can be done with a Super Lesser?
We have a nice colony of lessers and I am also looking to acquire a pair of Fires in 08

My opinion (for whatever it's worth) is a little different ... mostly because I don't think of mutations as "competitors" ... lessers serve a purpose in making crosses ... fires serve an entirely different purpose ... depending on a breeders goals and what that breeder hope to produces, a lesser might be right for some and a fire right for others ... or maybe a combination of both. I personally like the lesser spider over the fire spider ... but I like the fire pastel over the lesser pastel ... can you imagine a lesser fire spider pastel? pure hotness!

I think that it's interesting, but when I set out to invest in a white snake project years ago, I chose to go with as pure of a white snake as I could ... a white snake to me is "all white" ... after I had the pure white snake project covered with lessers, fires were certainly on my list.
