    Re: Ferrets

Ferts can kill reptiles, so make sure they can't get at each other.
Ferts make awesome pets. They're funny, smart, and you can walk them or carry them around. The downside is they tear up anything they get into, can fit into anything, and love chaos in general. If you have a good sense of humor and have the time to play with them, they're amazing.
    It's okay, I don't understand me either.

    Re: Ferrets

5 pounds of ferret gets pretty heavy after a while get them used to a leash and harness. thats what i did with mine. and she will walk like 2 miles now before she wants to get picked up i will pick her up however
when im near a major street or a dog is coming by.

they are great pets but be careful with them around reptiles remeber the story of riki tiki tavi. the mongoose and king kobra. yea ferrets are alot like that. they also like to steal alot of things i have wallets missing watches a cell phone i got 3 house plants dug up and broke crystal vases. please make sure your home is ferret proofed do it just like you would for a kid but 10x becasue they can get into very tight spaces 1 inch hole no problem for my biggest girl.

o and try to get them in pairs so they have a room mate. i adopted my ferret she came from an abusive family. first time she bit me was the last time she bit. she learned quick.

shes got run of the full house and i have her on a broiled meat diet and ferret food diet.

    well dats my story.

    Re: Ferrets

I have two ferrets and I love them to death. They do require a good amount of attention, but I would say less attention than a dog. I say that because mine will play with me for a few minutes but then are perfectly content to play together or just zoom around the room looking for trouble. Oh, and my snake rack has little pins holding the boxes in (so the bigger snakes couldn't push it open) and the very first day my little girl ferret saw the rack, she pulled out all the pins. Luckily I ran over there before she thought about getting the boxes out...which I'm sure was her plan..."Hmm...I wonder what's in here...its prolly a toy..." haha They are a handful but I couldn't imagine not having them!
