    Anything else?

So, I just spent another large sum of money on this business venture of mine, lol. I just purchases flexwatt from Rich at Reptile Basics (who very patiently answered all my questions about wiring my new rack) and Nolvason and PAM from the Beanfarm.

I'm planning on getting a roll of Kraft paper for bedding... but that will wait until another check comes through.

Is there anything else that is recommended for me to have on hand? I want to make sure everything is ready---I will have kids coming from three different parts of the country (soon hopefully!!!) and want to be prepared for them!

Thanks for any and all input!

    Re: Anything else?

there are alot of different things you will get as you go, betadine, scissors, extra stats, accurites, etc.

one thing i got that i use all the time and is well worth the money, is a rubbermaid utility cart!

i know sounds funny, but that cart makes cleaning alot easier and really saves the back!!

    Re: Anything else?

Accurites are a check, though I purchased just enough for the amount of snakes I have coming... will continue on with that (or maybe just start stock-piling, buying as I can, lol).

Planning on getting a probe set at some point---I don't feel comfortable enough doing it by myself yet.

And I like the sound of the cart idea... something else to add to the list....

    Re: Anything else?

    -Scale (good digi one)
-Spend the 25.00 on Degei's registered version.
-Spare tubs (makes cleaning day a snap, I have a spare tub for every rack slot)
    -Newspaper (cheaper)
-A good spray bottle one for misting and one for cleaning
-Have to agree on the cart holds cleaning supply's and the tub(s) while cleaning
-Get together a small First Aid kit, triple antibiotic onitment, sterile vet grade cotton swabs and q-tips(the wooden stick kind)
-A good set of 12" and 6-8" hemostats you'll use them more than you know.
-Get a good bright arm type desk lamp when working with these animals lighting is your friend.
    -Stock pile paper towels.
-A 55gal garbage can and liners.

    Re: Anything else?

yah, good spray bottles! like zep, johnson, etc. professional quality.

i started out with basic cheap wally world bottles and they didn't last long. nothing was more annoying than a bottle that didn't work.

    Re: Anything else?

A snake hook is nice to have. You never know? Paper towels and I dont use a cart myself but use a work table to put tubs on, weigh or inspect snakes all kinds of stuff. The cart idea sounds good though!
