Gentle Touch for reptiles as well as rodents?

Has anyone used this as a bedding for snakes? Would it be too coarse, or too dry, for bps? I'm using it for my rodents, but have been thinking I need something more absorbant than newspaper for my larger bps.

Gentle Touch is a pelleted aspen bedding marketed primarily as a cat litter, but also recommended by a lot of rodent keepers as a rodent bedding. The pellets absorb moisture very well, and when wet expand into sawdust clumps that can be easily removed.
In appearance it looks not too dissimilar to rabbit food.

I think i will stick to aspen. I switch back and forth between paper towels and aspen.

I don't see why it should be the a problem. I know people have kept Balls on gravel (I don't think its too harsh, (meaning the gentle touch)) The only thing I would worry about is the humidity requirement for your snakes. That may cause a problem.

Not my sorta thing, I was just pointing out that it shouldn't be too rough, because you can keep these animals on just about anything. (within reason)

Well... not really. If I were you I'd stick to certified snake bedding like aspen, Repti-Bark and good ol' newspaper. Those pellets could contain phenols that are bad for snakes.

He also said they were made from aspen, and I meant "within reason" to not include harmful substrates.

    Who certifies snake bedding?
