    How to Get Weights?

I was wondering about this yesterday and I just remembered so I thought I'd post.

How do you get weights on a ball python? I know this sounds really stupid. Put it on a scale and weigh it! But I've noticed ball pythons are not like kings or corns in the way that they do not defecate on a weekly basis. My corn goes once a week almost like clockwork, so I know that before every feeding, I can get a proper weight on her. With the ball pythons, they tend to go after they've eaten. They defecate but now their belly is full again.

How do you get a proper weight on your ball pythons? Is there any specific time you wait till to get them on the scale or do you just get a weight and subtract the weight of any prey item in their belly?

.....or am I making this far more difficult than it really is.

    Re: How to Get Weights?

I weigh once a month and preferably after a shed and poo but before a feed
For each snake that is a different time during the month.
    Hope that helps

Get a digital postal scale... i found one for 35$ that weighs up to 11lbs which is much more than youll need for a BP... I weigh mine every week before I feed them whether they poop or dont poop. Its all really up to you

    Re: How to Get Weights?

The scale I use is a My Weigh 7001DX Digital Scale. It can hold up to 7000 grams. I use a small metal bowl for weighing. It came with a larger bowl but my grandmother did something with it and I can't find it anymore.
