    Tub Sizes

I was wanting to know what size tub was preferred for these stages of ball python.

A Hatchling - What size tub do you use for hatchling ball pythons? Dimensions?

?Question? At what size/weight/age would you consider them a sub adult?

A Sub-Adult - What size tub do you use for sub adult ball pythons? Dimensions?

?Question? At what size/weight/age would you consider them an adult?

An Adult - What size tub do you use for an adult ball python? Dimensions?

?Question? At what size/weight do you consider them to be too large for a 32qt tub?

A Large Female - What tub size do you use for a large female ball python.

?Question? With all these tub sizes, which racks from Reptile Basics would you recommend for each stage?

Not trying to pick on you, but this topic has been covered over and over. You'd be surprised with what you may find using the search feature.

    Re: Tub Sizes

I use alot of Sterilite tubs, as I can't get Iris where I live unless I want to pay $5.99 for a shoebox. Babies go in 6qt shoeboxes and when they are about 350-400g, they get to go on a 15qt(Clearview, I think they are 1956) up to about 1000g. When they reach sub-adult or are an adult male, they get to go into a 32-qt tub(sterilite 1756). Big females get to go in the 41-qt tubs or sterilite 1960s.

    I think that's about it.

    Re: Tub Sizes

So sub-adults are in 15qt tubs until they are 1000g?

Both of my ball pythons are still under 100g and will be moving into 15qt tubs (32qt tub with divider).

Is there a rack that has 6qt shoeboxes, or do you have to make a custom rack to have that size tub?

    Re: Tub Sizes

Well, my situation(needing to move) is kind of hampering my ability to make another 32qt rack right now, and I need to sell some of my normals. But yes, technically, they can stay in 15qt tubs until then unless you are noticing stress or them not eating. I have a good couple of females who are 05/06 and are in this size tub. They eat every week without fail and range between 500-1000g.

So yeah, you'll be able to keep them in the 15qt tubs for awhile.

    Re: Tub Sizes

Everyone does it differently it also depends on the individual itself but in general I use:
15 quarts up to 500 grams
32 quarts up to 1500 grams
41 quarts for 1500 and over

    Re: Tub Sizes

I agree with satanic intention. But i have a few just under 1200 grams in a 32 qt tubs. But some of my females for whatever reason stop eating when i switch them up from 15qt to 32qt tubs so i put them back in the 15qt tubs. So anyone above 1200 grams goes in the 32qt rack. I hope this makes sense.
