advice
My little sister's cornsake keeps regurging her food... It is just a baby, and it has done it twice, we just fed it again today, and if it does it again i need to know if i should pull one of those mom switching the animal things.... I really don't want her to have her first snake die, so i was oging to get another one, switch it, and keep hers to nurse to health considering i know mroe about snakes than her (and also have money for a vet visit)
anyone have any moral advice on if i should switch the snake or not?
thanks all!

Re: advice
Amy, if you look back in threads you'll see as a mom I faced this same question when my then 5 year old's snake got loose and died. It's the first reaction to protect young kids from distress but in the end, it's not the right reaction. Instead of switching snakes, help your sister take this snake to a vet, figure out what is causing the regurges (health or husbandry) and either help her bring the snake back to health or help her deal with it's passing. In the end, you'll be helping her face life's realities better and be setting a fine example as the older sister.

Re: advice
Amy,
Kathy Love has a GREAT regurge page write up / set up. when I first got my corn snake he too regurged twice. Most people wrote him off as dead but a few told me to ask Kathy Love for her write up. I did, and followed her sirections set by step and well Jinx is now very alive and healthy today. If it wasn't for her, he probably would have died since a lot of people were telling me wrong advice on the matter. Please do read / print this out!!!

Re: advice
The main thing with a regurge and this is VERY important, do not feed for 8-10 days after a regurge or they will just regurge again. A regurge causes the loss of all of the digestive juices and they need time to replenish that. If they are fed again too soon, it will just force another regurge and the more they regurge the more serious i gets.
I agree with the previous post, follow Kathy Love's regurge FAQ, it works. I just got a new hatchling pewter that regurged her first 2 meals and she is doing great now.

Re: advice
She regurged her third meal? If so, how often are you feeding her?
