    Tub Probe placement

Hey guys and gals time for me to bug ya with another question hehe. Hey when I set this tub up what would you guys and gals think would be best for probe placement? I am going to be using eco-earth as it is not that expensive as I get discount at a pet store . I was thinking on top of sub and make cold end thicker with the sub as I will be using two UTH for the heat and hot end thinner yes? Does that sound right?

    Re: Tub Probe placement

If you use 2 UTH one for the warm side, one for the cool side you need to use 2 thermostats to provide gradient temps of 80-84 and 90-94.

The thermostat probe should be placed underneath the tub, directly on the heat source. Placing it in the enclosure can cause the temps to shoot up, if your BP move the probe, urinate or turn over his water dish.

so I should then place digi temp/humid readers inside the tub? I ask as I have sene pictures of people with temp readers that have probe wires in the picture INSIDE the snake's area.

Yes the thermometer goes in the enclosure. If you get the Acu-Rite place the probe on the warm side and place the display on the cool side, so you have a reading of both temps.

    Re: Tub Probe placement

you want the thermostat probe outside of the tub, so that the snake doesn't accidently move it and then it will just leave the UTH running on full power (not good). your best bet is to get it in-between the tub and the UTH. there you can control the exact temp of the UTH. you'll just have to adjust the temp till you get the right temps on the acurite inside the tub.

    hope that helps

You only need one thermometer if you get the Acu-rite (12$ at Walmart) (if this is what you refer to by thermo???) and
Yes the thermometer goes in the enclosure. If you get the Acu-Rite place the probe on the warm side and place the display on the cool side, so you have a reading of both temps.

By placing the probe on the warm side it will give you the temp on the warm side (showing at outside temp on the screen) and by placing the display on the cool side it will give you the temp on the cool side (showing as inside temp on the screen) and it will also give you a reading for your humidity level.
