What kind of cat/dog food do you use?
As the title says, what kind do you feed your cats/dogs?
I feed my cats Innova Evo and a raw diet.

I feed two kinds of dry food (yeah, two bowls out all the time so they can choose what they are in the mood for...spoiled brats!)
Iam's Original and Science Diet Oral Care
The two cats split a serving of wet food each day...we feed Whiskas brand for that...we tried different ones but they liked this one best.

I switched to Royal Canin Indoor 27 a few months ago and have been happy with it. There are less fillers and the cats seem to eat less but are in better overall condition.

I should also mention that both cats eat a prey item they caught at least once a day. I wish they wouldn't, but I suppose it's their nature to do so.

Lola (Pit X something-resembling-a-Lab/Ridgeback/Greyhound mix) gets a combo of Abady granulated, Abady raw/Bravo raw, and supplemented with various canned Abady or Innova, especially the tripe & rabbit.
Cats get Abady & California Natural.

That's why I feed Evo... no grains or fillers to suppress the immune system, dry the skin or make them more tasty to fleas.
No offense to the Iams/Science Diet people but YIKES! Why?

If they're actually hunting and eating what they catch, it's probably because they need the nutrients and proteins that Iams and Science Diet don't provide. Since cats and dogs are carnivores and cats are *obligate* carnivores, they require meat and most processed pet foods (especially all the products made by Iams co. (that includes Eukanuba (sp?) and Science Diet) as well as the cheap store brand foods are nothing but grains (which are bad, bad bad, corn being one of the worst), by products of meat (meal), which is not real meat and fillers.
Let your kitties eat their "prey", it is good for them and will clean their teeth a whole lot better than that SD oral care ever could.
I researched for a long time before choosing the Innova Evo for my kitties (and the dog I use to have). Granted, a 15 lb. bag costs me $40 but that bag will last my two babies for at least 2 months. Since the Evo has *no* grains in it whatsoever, not even rice, unlike the regular Innova that does have some grains, it was, for me, the best, wisest choice for their immune systems and overall health. I would feed a complete raw diet but I don't trust the meat people put out these days. Too many hormones, antibiotics and "mystery solutions" in meat these days.... heck, I'm even afraid to eat it. LOL

My dogs are on two different diets. My Flat Coat eats Euk performance diet for sporting dogs, and the eskie gets an allergy formula that nutro makes that seems to be working well for him. Before I switched them they where both on Merrick. The cat eats Wellness Core.

Re: What kind of cat/dog food do you use?
I feed Science Diet. I've yet to notice supressed immune systems, bad skin, or excessive fleas. In fact, this year is the first in five that I've even needed to use Frontline...it's been exceptionally warm and wet, and the little boogers are out in numbers.
We have soft coats, clear eyes, no allergies whatsoever (barring a very wierd event in one of my kittens, who's been clear for three years now *knocks on wood*), minimal low-volume low-odor stool, and beautiful lean phyisiques.
Really, I think a lot of the "corn is evil" stuff is just hype. Dogs can be allergic to anything, and some dogs are allergic to corn, but most aren't. I've seen more dogs test out allergic to human dander than to corn, LOL. Feed something decent...no Ol'Roy or Big Red, and you'll be fine. If you're not fine, try something else. :-)
