Re: Scuba Divers?
My c-card has expired but I use to do allot of diving in college now I mainly snorkel when I get the chance. Still have my fins, mask, and tube(snorkel) though.
Diving is loads of fun. !!!!

Re: Scuba Divers?
I've been certified for about 3 years, and I love diving!! I don't get to dive that often (not many interesting places to dive in Utah.... ). Occasionally I get to throw some gear on and dive in the shark tank to rearrange rocks, but other than that, dives are few and far between. Are you doing PADI or NAUI certification?

I had the choice of either one, I went to one dive shop that offered PADI certs and really didnt like they way the people got right up in your face and said you needed this and that before you start the class.
I went to another shop that was NAUI and totally different, very friendly people and very knowledgeable about everything and didnt try to sell me anything (except an underwater DSLR camera ). Told me I didnt need to buy anything for the class and all the rental gear was included in the class price. So I went with the NAUI shop.

Re: Scuba Divers?
I got certified in college and then didn't dive for about 10 years. Now me & hubby go 1 or 2 x a year to the caribbean to dive, and finally broke down and purchased all of our own gear. I'd say absolutely get your own mask and regulator. I love it now, and bought an underwater housing for my Canon digital camera. I'm at work now, or I would post some pictures.

What's the difference btwn the two certs?????
Since I'm SCBA certified for work, it's gotten me even more interested in SCUBA....my sis & her hubby were certified & went off the FL Keys every summer. He's a shipwreak enthusiast so they'd dive all the time.
I'd like to become SCUBA cert'd but right now I don't have the money for the classes.

Re: Scuba Divers?
i learnt how to dive when i was a kid [i'm still only sixteen though] and i've been on about a dozen dives so far... then school caught up with me . i'll be getting the cert after my O levels this year though.
but the whole thing is my greatest passion, diving, underwater photography, aquaculture- the works.

From what ive been told there really isnt much different, only that NAUI goes more into rescue diving as apposed to PADI.
This course only cost $275, including all rental gear and no tax. Plus they let you make payments.
The other place wanted $375, then tax and didnt include rental gear which is $85 a day.
