Just got a new CRB had a question.
Was wondering if anyone could tell me if I am able to house 2 Columbian Red Tail Boa's together? I currently have a female she is @ 2 feet long and was wondering if I got a second one if I would beable to put them together or would I have to keep them seperate?

Re: Just got a new CRB had a question.
One snake, one cage, my friend!!! Goes that way for ALL snakes. They are NOT community critters. If you put two snakes together, they will compete for everything... the best warm spot, the best cool spot, the best hiding spot, food, you name it. One snake will end up completely stressed out... though they'll both be feeling it. Plus, you could end up with health problems. If one snake gets sick, both will get sick, doubling your bill. Also, how are you even supposed to know which snake is sick if you find a regurge or an irregular poo? You won't know which snake it came from.
And housing a male and a female together? Nope. Only for breeding do you put them in the same cage. Males mature faster than females, so he may stress her out by trying to breed before she's ready. And, if he accomplishes breeding with her before she's ready, you could have health problems with her and/or health problems with the babies born.
Lots of reasons why it's not a good idea.

I knew ball pythons you couldn't house together and all the same reasons go for these basically. I asked the person I got it from that sells snakes and he said we could just as long as we seperate for feeding and that didn't seem right to me.
