    Uk Herp shows dieing

wont be long until the uk herp shows are extinct,
A recent Reptile Herp show was cancelled 48 hrs before the day , due to the council changing its mind and pulling the plug! :cens0r: , costing people literally thousands.
The organisers one of them a mate of mine is gutted...he and others worked the butts into the ground to get this show off the ground only to left in the dirt!.
People from all over the uk that had tables booked are being fully refunded but that wont help them that much regarding there livestock.
also a hell of alot of people were travelling from Germany and France to be at this show...some were already on the way before the show was cancelled ( i feel sorry for those guys ) the others were thankfully noticfied in time.
I really cant understand why the Council did this after agreeing the show then killing it 48hrs before the actual event, it make me so angry , id hate feel what the sellers feel like right now .
This show and a few others have been cancelled throughout the uk this year thanks to the local councils and are goverment, so i cant see the UK herp shows surviving for much longer , according to uk law only hobbists are allowed to sell at trade shows and not business's....this show was hobbists only so i cant see why it was denied!!
Sorry for the rant but i feel so pi$$@d off right now its unreal

    Re: Uk Herp shows dieing

would it be possible for you to create your own show?

everytime i've wanted something, club wise, and it hasn't been around- i just found out what i needed to do to make it happen an did.

though, what you'd be making would be on a much larger scale.

i'm very sorry you guys had your show cancelled. was there a reason why? or was it jbc of the 'no business' type thing.. some sort of.. loophole?

    Re: Uk Herp shows dieing

No way would it be possible , even if i had my own mansion with a huge hall i still wouldnt be allowed to hold a show, it requires a license from the local council ,plus now we have new animal welfare laws which is seeking to stop all animal fares , a recent bird fare was stoped a few weeks ago , the only way it can happen is if all animals there are exhibits only and will/cannot be sold.
there also trying to ban animals being sold on the internet , the uk has seriously gone down hill imo there wont be a reptile business possible here soon.
the trouble is are government and councils do not want trouble (cant be bothered with the hassel ) with AR groups so these animal rights groups and the R.S.P.C.A are winning the NO PETS battle they always wanted
