    Re: Poop Question

    Hi,

    Sometimes they save it up.

Is it a normal poop or white urates? They do normally poop when they shed though.

    Re: Poop Question

    Hi,

How long is it since he pooped before this and how much does he eat? As long as everything looks normal I wouldn't get too worried about it though.

    Re: Poop Question

    She pooped Monday...

She eats 2 times a week because adult mice I think are a little to small for her.

I keep on putting he when I mean her.... Oops!!!

    Re: Poop Question

    Hi,

It might be an idea to try feeding her only once a week but offering multiple prey items one after another. I let mine get their jaws re-aligned and reset into hunting position then offer the second item.

The idea behind that is that the digestive process puts strain on their metabolism plus , since your not recomended to handle them for two days after feeding, that only leaves you one maybe two days a week for handling.

What size is she? Sounds fairly big if she needs 2 adult mice a week.

    Re: Poop Question

    Hi,

Well she's your snake but make sure you aren't overfeeding her as that can cause them to go on a fast to compensate later - I know she's still growing but there are full adult ball pythons happy on 2 adult mice a week.

    Re: Poop Question

I wouldn't be concerned about her defecating twice in one week. I've had snakes do the same thing and have never had a problem with it. Just be thankful that they aren't constipated. I am also curious about feeding twice a week. You want to try to feed once a week as it allows for proper digestion before the next meal.

    Re: Poop Question

If your snake is hungry enough to eat more than once a week you shouldn't have any issues with just feeding two at once. I vary myself between one-two mice a week depending how the previous week went.
