I have been thinking about this alot.

So I have no intentions on even being a small time breeder, just want a decent collection...So I wanted to know if you think this is wrong.

I am currently trying to make my dream python (Fire x Honeybee). Now if I start from scratch it is going to require me to have a Orange Ghost, Spider and a Fire.

Now after I get this snake which when bred to a normal I can get all those and het. Ghosts...so theoretically I don't need the other snakes.

So it seems kinda wrong to me now, but if I kept the super morph and sold or gave away the rest would that be wrong?? Or would it be a good idea?

I have two snakes now and I love them both, but I see myself having so many more snakes, but I don't want more then 6-8 max. What would you suggest?

It is so hard not to get attached to these guys.

Hi, I'm not quite sure what you're asking, but if I understand correctly you're worried about selling the offspring you don't want in order to reach your goal? There is nothing wrong with that, all breeders keep the ones that stick out in a clutch/litter or they ones that will get them to their desired morph and sell off the others.

Eh.. I would be a hypocrite if I told you that was unethical to sell of animals as you breed for higher morphs. I just recently sold off my normal male and a female to make room for the morphs I am getting into more. I see nothing wrong with buying and selling them as you see fit, as long as they are going to good homes. Some animals you will develop a special attachment to and regardless of their breeding role, you can't sell them

qiksilver sorry for the confusion...I was talking about selling the breeders...the originals. Here is an example...

I buy a spider and pastel...breed....get a bumblebee...keep the bumblebee and sell the spider and pastel.

So instead of three snakes I will just have one...which is capable of giving me a pastel and spider if I wanted to have it agian. I just seems so weird to sell the parents.

oh, pardon me I didn't understand. Well since you're keeping the animals for your enjoyment then you should do/keep what you like. As long as your animals are cared for and have a good home until they are sold, it does not matter what other people think. Most people have a problem with the people that are trying to get rich quick.

I would say it comes down to keep what you like, because again, as long as they're well cared for while with you then there should be no problem.

As long as you're not sticking them in the freezer no there is nothing wrong with selling the original morphs and keeping the ones you want. I'm sure lots of small breeders and large breeders do it all the time.

That's not unethical at all. My dream morph is a bumble bee and killer bee. Those two morphs are way out of my price range so I bought a male pastel and a female spider and female pastel. Once i finally get a bumblebee and eventually a killer bee then I will sell off the pastels and spider.

It would be unethical if you just killed them, let them go in your backyard, etc. But selling them is not wrong.

As long as you hold strong convictions about who you sell too. Wouldn't want you to just sell of the young ones to anyone who wants to buy them. Gotta make sure their educated and know how long and what kind of commitment it is when you purchase a BP.
Making a quick buck by selling a bp into the hands of an unaware owner is unethical, IMO.
