Spares?
I'm just curious, how many people keep spare "husbandry" items around just in case? For some reason the other day when I was buying an accurite for my new black blood Nero, I went ahead and bought 2 extra just in case. I mean, I was sorta tight on money seeing as I was already buying everything for Nero's set-up plus a reptile basics cage for Snape (my ball), but for some reason I dropped them in the cart and didn't think twice.
Fast forward to today where I go check on Snape and find a urate-soaked broken accurite awaiting me. I stoked that I had a spare on had ready to go and was set. But yea, how many people keep spares? Be it thermostats/t-stats/rheostats, tongs, hides, waterbowls etc?

Re: Spares?
I keep three tubs for everyone and a spare water bowl for everyone.

Re: Spares?
I've got 4 extra tubs with attached heat, and 2 extra slots in my rack right now... does that count as extras?

Re: Spares?
I have enough bedding on hand to completely replace all bedding with aspen to spare at any time necessary, I have a few extra hides laying around, but I never thought to get extra accurites or tubs or water bowls. That's probably a good idea!

Re: Spares?
I do it because I buy something end up not really needing it and then buying something else that i need and then my snake grows out of it and it goes on again. Always have mulch because I always get the biggest bag even though I dont need it. But hey came in handy when I got my newest snake.
And when I switch to racks I will have plenty of stuff.

Re: Spares?
My rack uses rubbermaid 28 and 41qt tubs and I kept the tops. I also use disposable water dishes...so in an emergency I can move all the snakes in their tubs (adding the lids) in a matter of minutes. I also have a box of heat packs in case I need to do so in the winter time.
Not sure what other "supplies" I would need to stock up on.
BTW...I have 5 large tubs setup for rats so I could move all the rats out of their racks in a few mintues as well if we needed to evac them as well.

I keep all enclosures, dishes, hides and electrical supplies. Never know when that new "kid" will be found! Have enough spares to take them from hatchling to adult.

Re: Spares?
i have 3 spare acurites, a spare thermostat (zoomed one), 10 ceramic water bowls (i'm gonna start selling them), 2 heat lamps with bulbs, 2 extra water bottles for the rats, about 15 hides in all different assorted sizes (bottoms of plant pots), and as many extra tubs as i have snakes.... this makes cleaning easy, i just set up new tubs and swap the snakes, then clean the old tubs when ever i have a chance.
i wanna know what people that use racks do with all the lids that come with the tubs? i got like 10 or them just chillen in my closet.
