    Re: names..

Some of them Karl named, and some seemed to just "tell" me their names.

Kashmire - my first ball python. I was reading the Snake Keeper site, and Colette's first snake was named Kashmire. I loved it and even wrote to ask if they minded if I named MY first snake after hers, and they said they would be honored.

Echo - I saw that in a list of reptile names and liked it a lot.

Sierra - she's one who's name just came to me the moment I purchased her.

    Casper - because he's a het ghost!

Piper - because he's a het pied (pied piper)

Oliver - because he's a het clown (Oliver Hardy)

Winston - just a cute name, and it seems to fit him.

Sophie - was reading a book with the main character with that name, and I liked it, and Sophie reminds me of someone quiet and diminutive, just like her.

Hannah Banana - her name just came to me when I rescued her from the pet store.

Pretzel - her name also just came to me, and it seemed to fit her

J-Lo - Karl named her, and it's appropriate, because she has a badunkadunk butt!

Mackenzie - a name I liked and wanted to give one of my snakes

    Bailee - same as Mackenzie

Reese - for her chocolatey goodness and light brown blushing

Bindi - for her two head spots

Pandora - because she was a replacement for a male who was accidentally shipped as a female and so it was a big pandora's box.

Being fostered - Little Girl, Big Girl - simply because they won't be permanent additions.

    Re: names..

Lady: Me and my family were trying to think of what to name her, then we were standing there watching her eat- which is ver dainty- and it just kinda fit. lol.

Rin: Because "Rin" means "Cold" in Japanese, and she IS cold blooded, but mainly becasue Rin is the name of a little girl in a show that I watch, and the little girl is calm and sweet, but curious at the same time.. Like my Rin.

Captain Jack Sparrow, or 'Jack': It was kind of a joke with my feoncee, bacuse I loved Johnny Depp more than him

Reggie: I dunno, I guess because I dont know if its a male or female yet and it can go both ways, and because even though its probably not, it kinda sounds Austrailian. lol.

    Re: names..

George: He was a rescue dog orginally dubbed Georgie... Which I hated so it had to go!!

Dakota Bailey Austin 316 Montana Powers: Every member of my family picked a name and voted... Mine was Bailey - another purebred had that name so on his papers that's his name above... But we just call him Bailey!

Joey, Darby: Got them named as such

Carmine: It just came to me... He got called 'Carm'.

Cleo(patra): Full name Cleopatra, new BP to come home once my thermostat has arrived... It just came to me when I saw her pics...

Cass(anova): Chosen name for the Irish Wolfhound I will one day be purchasing... Once I buy him an SUV, A house, and a really big fence!

    Re: names..

Panndor -- I actually named my boy this because my boyfriend always names his characters Panndor when we play games. That's weird but that's why.

Jules -- I named my girl this because she's so beautiful, and I always thought the name Jules seemed quite beautiful.

Dante -- Two reasons: one, because I love love LOVE Clerks, and he's a pastel so Dante, as in Dante's Inferno.

Names pretty much pop up in my head when I see or hold something for the first time.

    Re: names..

    Cute thread.

I can't even begin to list all the animals I've had...would be too long. So instead I'll just give you the more clever or unusual names and their origins.

Indie: Short for Indiana. My first snake, a red checkered garter. Named by me with a double meaning of Indiana Jones (who hates snakes ), and the Indy 500 for the checkers.

Blorp: European green toad. Yes that was her name...it just came to me while holding her.

Rusty: Not an unusual name of itself, but when given to a reddish brown Forest Hingeback Tortoise...

Hershey, Milky Way, and Nestle: Black minx, white and brown spotted lop, and rich brown normal Rabbits. I have no idea why I decided to name them after chocolates...other than their colors/markings.

Truffle: Probably the best name my clever partner has ever come up with. This was the name of my black and white Abyssinian guinea pig.

Nagini: Obviously we are both HP crazy... I was going to name her crystal, but Ari talked me into Nagini as being appropriate.

Garnet and Nugget: New rats named not only for their colors and breeds (Garnet is a red down under minx, Nugget is a roly poly little brown and white down under manx), but also to follow the precious gems/minerals naming of rats.

Currently we are still trying to find the right name for my new corn snake. Ari has suggested Gritz(the whole corn and cream thing), Hominy(alternative to gritz), and Brachs(candy corn). As you see, he's rather good at coming up with unusual names.
    **Adriana - White 'N Nerdy!**

1.0 BP 'SunSpot', 0.1 Corn 'Freya', 1.0 IJ BTS 'Topaz', 1.0 ND bunny 'Licorice'

    Re: names..

Canela (borneo short-tail) it means cinnamon in spanish and it matches her colors

Cleopatra (poss. het pied) her golden colors reminded us of egyptians

Fairlady (mojave) we wanted to name her after the Nissan 350

Bailey (mojave) his light chocolate colors reminded me of the drink Bailey's

Moo-Moo (female dog) My old nickname

Chachi (my old cat) Its a cute name that me and my mom thought of

Kathyris aka Kathy (my other cat) I wanted Kathy and my brother wanted Iris. So we mixed it together
