from snake to rat, visa versa
what do you do? Im sure those of you with pet rats hold them.. as much as your snakes? I kinda do rounds, i clean out the rats water/food dishes, hold each one for a few minutes, petting and talking to them and put them away for awhile... i want them to get used to being held and know were not goign to hurt them. I then change my shirt (i want the rats to be as comfy as the snakes so i hold them close to me, like i do with the snakes) wash my hands and arms with antibacterial hand soap and then go t ocleaning out the snakes bins, their water exc... if one of the snakes are popping their heads out of their hides i hold them for a few minutes, move the bedding around to make it more or less fluffy again and then leave them alone.. wash my hands.
i prefer to do rats first, no real reason i just do.. does this sound ok? what do you do?

Re: from snake to rat, visa versa
Personally I always do the rats after the snakes just to cut down on any chance of me smelling like their dinner.

Re: from snake to rat, visa versa
That's a good plan. I generally do the snakes in the morning then the rats later in the evening when it's cooler (we are having really really humid weather in Toledo lately and it's NOT fun cleaning rat tanks while bathed in sweat...blech).
