    popping.

im sooo dumb. i went to the vet today by myself. and he showed me how to properly "pop" my snake but when he did it i wasnt exactly paying attention to see if it was a boy or a girl. and hes like there ya go. and i was like ohhhkayy.? and i didnt ask to see what it was again because i thought he would bring it up like "heyy schedule him/her (the bp) for a check up" but he didnt. and im toooooo shy. so i decided id see for myself. so i did so. and nothing is popping out like a male would with something sticking out. but when i do it all i see is like a white little organ showing a bit. does this mean its girl?

    Re: popping.

LOL I'd be scared too. I myself have no idea how to probe or pop either so I'm in the same boat as you.

Sorry I can't help you, I'm sure one of the pro's here will get with you shortly, but I share your worry and found your story quiet amusing. So are you going to go back to him and ask him again to show you?

If you've never popped before it's hard to tell, but it usually take a lot of practice to get it right. It takes a special "touch".

You should probably call your vets office and ask ... I'm sure he wrote it in your animals file.

    Re: popping.

I know I would never try popping myself, as I will bring it to a vet, but out of curiosity, how drastic can the damage be if it was done incorrectly. How hard does one need to mess up? lol

    Hi Tony,

I have no idea but suspect it may be similar to grabbing the bits you like to wash best of all and squeezing really hard.

Hmmm that is a good question. Can anyone please tell us? Personaly Im afraid to hurt my snakes (even though, as I pretty much just said I dont know exactly what would happen), so I just got mine probed.
