When did Petsmart start selling snakes?
I thought Petco was the only one who was selling snakes. I was surprised to walk into my local Petsmart just a little while ago and see that they have a few baby king snakes for sale. My heart jumped to my throat when I noticed that there was a few in there all TOGETHER in one of those little plastic displays. I brought it to the managers attention and he acted like he didn't care because they were "shipped that way, so they are fine". WHAT!? I told him that king snakes eat each other and other snakes. He told me he would have one of the associates "look into it". RIIIGHT. Poor little things. They didn't even look like they had have a first meal.
Blah. I thought the people that work at that one were a lot better then that since I've never had a problem or seen a problem in all of the years I've shopped at that one. It's one of the two I'll actually shop at around here since the rest are pretty horrible.

Wow. I have never seen one that actually had snakes, but on the reptile display, I had seen pictures of corn snakes with the other leos and whatnot so I figured they must carry them somewhere.

Re: When did Petsmart start selling snakes?
The one here in my town started selling snakes early this year. They have ball pythons and other smaller snakes for sale. I noticed that they too had the ball pythons all together and some of the other snakes each grouped together by what kind they were.

They have been selling snakes for many years. Just not every store carries them.

I hope the kings don't eat each other :/
Jeez even at Petco on our caresheet it says they will eat each other and not to house them together. And in practice we only get one king at a time in store...

Where in South Jersey? I live in South Jersey and I've never seen snakes for sale at Petsmart.

In Mount Laurel next to the Moorestown Mall.
They have them once in a while. But like I said. Usually ball pythons in there.
