humidity is owning me
34 quart tub enclosure.
2 hides. Newspaper substrate. Driftwood. And about a 2 inch round water dish.
32 1/4 inch holes. With a fan blowing on the tub. And the humidity is still around 75 to 80%.
More holes?
82 cool side
92.8 warm side
80.4 ambient

More holes and maybe try moving the waterdish more to the cool side. Then during shed u can slide the water bowl closer to the warmer side and wont have to worry about misting

Re: humidity is owning me
Hey fearless thanks for the reply. Her water dish in an even smaller 1 I just picked up. I just soldered like 10 more holes in the tub.
Humidity is sitting at about 64%. But I just put it all back together. I also shut the cool side uth off. And her belly is seeing 82 degrees. So maybe I can leave that one off for now. See how it does.
Ill have to see what happens with it. I thought for sure id have plenty of holes in it!
I switched to a tub for heat and humidity issues. I didn't know they we're THIS damn efficient! Haha
Thanks for the reply. And more input is always appreciated.

Didn't know many people used cool side UTH's. Maybe that was what was kicking the humidity so high?
I thought room temperature would be self sustaining as a cool side unless your room is air conditioned, I can see why, but then the humidity problem shouldn't be an issue. Let us know what happens with the UTH on the cool side off.

Re: humidity is owning me
Thanks for the help everybody! Yes unfortunately the room is air conditioned. The house is at about 77 to 78 degrees.
Room humidity is about 55.
Cool side had to be turned back on. Temps right under the newspaper fell below 81. Its on a dimmer though. So its keeping the cool side perfect.
The itty bitty water dish is in the coldest corner of the enclosure.
I just let it rest for an hour. Came back and the humidity is right back at 75%! Cut me some slack here you freakin tub!! Haha
So there's a total of about 40 some holes in this thing. All of em are right around the edges right in the middle of the height of the enclosure.
Any ideas? Thanks for the support guys/gals!
Don't give up on me!!

Re: humidity is owning me
I would try some holes in the lid, my logic being that heat rises so some holes in the lid might drop some of the humidity.

Re: humidity is owning me
Hell its worth a shot! Haha
I'm just a little worried that the ambient temps might drop off. Be the idea that the lid is trapping the rising heat and keeping the ambient temps up.
Let's go pop some more holes!!!

If thats the case then its nothing a little tape won't fix. Worst comes to worst you get yourself an extra tub, which is handy to have around for cleaning, and a new lid.

Re: humidity is owning me
Ok 6 more holes across the lid. I positioned em equally over the cool end where the water dish resides. Let's see what happens.
Like you said either it will help or some duct tape will be in order.

It must be so routine and easy for you to make those holes.
By now I bet you make perfect sized holes with no plastic scattered all over the place
