How do I get snakes back to the UK from Holland?
Hi guys, I have a question. This is probably aimed at people in Europe, but I'm grateful for any help. I live in Sussex, UK, and I'm planning to visit the snake fair in Houten in Holland on the 14th October. My question is how do I legally get any snake that I buy home to the UK? Do I need any certificate or customs notice? I am going on the channel tunnel with my car. Anyone else going?
Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Could be wrong but I am almost certain as long as you have receipts for purchase you do not need anything else such as permits or the like. There are few forums in UK that are talking about Houten at the moment . Quite a few are going as well from those forums .
1.0 Graziani Pastel
0.1 Bumblebee
0.1 Albino
2.5 Wild type ( 2 Reduced Females )

I can confirm that what Royal Tartan has said is correct, of course though, animals requiring CITIES paperwork must come with this paperwork.

What sort of animals need CITIES paperwork? I'm only after royals, nothing else. I've checked out the UK sites and confirm that I only need a receipt to bring them back to the UK.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong but aren't ball pythons covered under CITES II? (I tried to research on the CITES website but that site gives me a massive brain ache LOL)

Yes same here! I would love to know if ball/royal pythons are covered under the CITIES act at all. Also, what about chrondros?
