Frozen rat provide questions Rodent pro?

I was wondering if you all could give me some feedback.
Here is my problem I can usually get Jumbo frozen rats at the pet store but there are times that I find that I cannot get them as they are out of stock and even if I can they are sold to me as Jumbo frozen rats when they are more like med/large rats.

anyhow are Rodent pros shipping costs reasonable? I would most likely only be ordering 4-6 jumbo xtra large rats every three weeks. I am just trying to get a feel for them because I have never ordered.
I am trying to figure out if its more cost effect for me to drive to pic up frozen rats out of the city where I live or just order them online.

I order from Rodent Pro frequently. Their shipping costs aren't bad if you think about it. Its only around $35-40 a box....but look at how much fits into one box...

Their shipments always arrive on time, clean, and frozen solid as a rock!

does that include the price of the food or its 35-40 a box just for shipping?, my problem is I dont have a lot of freezer space ( I share a freezer with two roomates so I can only get 4-6 jumbo rats at a time which the rats run about $23.94 for 6 (3.99 each) if shipping is $35-40 a box its not cost effect for me. I would be better off just driving to another pet store to pick up my frozen rats.
Anyone know of a rat breeder listing per state? Maybe i can get my rats from them if they live close to me.

You can do an online quote. It gives you the price of what you want quoted, including shipping.

yeah I did the quote thing, due to the size of my order shipping would be $60 cost of rats $11 so its not worth it for me to place an order. I cant place a large order I will just have to find a supplier near where I live.

I bought a haier mini freezer and keep all my food in there. Your best bet is to buy a lot of food at once and stuff it all in a mini freezer...

I live in Simi Valley Calif, its about 30 minutes from Hollywood.

As for the freezer I just dont have the room, half the garage is my workshop so I just dont have room for a freezer as it is I still have equipment I need to get that I have to find a place to fit it.
I do leatherwork and Lapidary work so I dont have much space

Find some other herpers and see if you guys can split orders? I can tell you RodentPro product is WONDERFUL. If anything, I think the rats I got were larger than I wanted, not at all smaller.
Great company, but you're right in that it's not at all cost-effective to order small quantities.
I just ordered, and ordered a pack of small hopper mice for a vet tech, and a bag of small rats for my boss, and once those went to them, it paid for half the shipping, so I filled my freezer with GREAT priced rodents and quail chicks, and paind only about $20 worth of the shipping.
Good luck! Finding good places to get feeders from is frustrating!

i would find some shows or expos around you, there are always people selling frozen rodents. the cost per rodent is a little higher (def not 3.99 a piece) but with no shipping (just bring your own cooler and ice), the cost is actually better.

you can always try and raise your own rats?
