    Craaazy night.. glad it's over!

Wow..! Today/tonight was insane. First off, Mark lets me know that at one of the houses he is renovating, there was an arson attempt that could have cost him his life. It is in one of the worst, stinking ghetto areas of Buffalo.. he walked in to the house to find a lit candle, burnt-out flames on the stovetop with gas escaping, and a can of gasoline by a heater.. see, the lowlife scum subhuman that had lived there, was squatting, and he told this lower life-form he had to go because he hadn't paid rent in a year..
So.. you know why I think this was happening? The house had a huge :cens0r::cens0r::cens0r::cens0r:-fighting operation going on. After extinguishing the candle, Mark goes in the bathroom.. about 40 ROOSTERS shoot out at him.. ran out the doors and windows.. it was insane! Mark caught one, and I guess the neighbors were all going nuts to try and grab them before he could even call the police (which he did.) There was huge evidence of cockfighting areas in the basement and yard also.. the cops came and notated everything of course.
So.. now we have a new pet rooster. He is out in the barn and is pretty scared, but seems ok.. so this low-life was planning on burning down a house that a) had 40 or so live chickens.. and b) is about 5 feet from neighboring homes housing kids/adults.. And.. there was even evidence of some illegal drug creation.. and I am not talking marijuana.
So... after all this fun.. I get home, and we see that our spoiled, fat housecat is OUTside!!! He BOLTed for the abandoned barn.. we tried for an hour in the coming darkness to get him out; no luch. So we went back into the house to relax and thought he'd come out.. he sure did!! We heard a horrid screach, and ran out to find him fighting with a strange cat..! He bolted under the truck and finally into the house. The other cat was torn up; blood everywhere, and it was flipping all over and bleeding so Mark shot it. It was literally a feral act that we had seem a few times around but could never get close to; there was no way to try to capture it and get it to a vet, and Inky nearly-killed it.. it was the best thing to do in the situation.
So now our cat has no scratch on him.. we are vetting him tomorrow to be safe. And there's a near-feral chicken living in the barn rafter..
MAN am I glad that we are relaxing at home with our cat!!
