Help he couldnt eat it!!!!!!!!

Ok I was feeding my bp for the second time.
Last week everything went well...but this time it didnt.
I put the mouse in like last time...and it took him awhile
to go over to it..and when he tried to eat it...he couldnt
he spit it back out and left it.After like 5 or 10mins i took it out. . It was the same size as the last mouse i fed him a week ago.
Now he looks all grumpy and stuff.
What do i do?

i would warm the mouse back up and leave it overnight for him. if he doesn't eat it overnight throw it away and try again in one week.

are you dangling it with tongs or making the mouse move around any, so it looks like a live mouse or are you just laying it on the cage floor? i have a few bps that take f/t off the cage floor but most of them need for me to do a little rat/mouse dance with it before they will strike and eat.

do you mind describing how you have you bp set up? temps, humidity, ect.

also where you watching him eat? bps are very shy snakes and alot will not eat if they have someone watching them. in fact mine wouldn't eat unless it was pitch black and i wasn't in the same room.

Well...at night is when i feed him and its about 80..and im not sure about the humidity.
but it was at the same temp as last time i fed him when he did successfully eat the mouse.
My bp did try to eat it..he just spit back out.
I already threw the mouse out...and thinking about
maybe trying tomorrow????

your snake should have a hot spot of 92. he may have ate for you last time, but this time he decided not to, only thing you can do is up the temps.

I think he just couldnt fit it in his mouth.
cuz he tried and tired to fit it in his mouth
but he couldnt.

How do u get the temp up anyway?
I have a under heat pad...what eles can use?

you can thin the substrate so the heat will be able to go through better and heat the tnak up. i have my Uth inside the tank and its about 93 al lday. jsut not so thick of substrate

well what size mouse are you giving him. i don't think he would eat it one day and then next week it would be too big. how are you measuring your temps? you say you don't even know your humidity, i would recommend you get a digital indoor/outdoor thermometer with a hygrometer, so you KNOW the temps and humidity.

also if a feeding is unsuccessful, always wait till the next scheduled feeding time, so next week try again, not tomorrow.

Ummmmmmmmm, I think there's a crossed wire here somewhere. Some comments are asking about HUSBANDRY temps, and the replies read as if you're talking about the temp of the FT mouse.

Mouse should be warm to touch, especially the head and hips (the really boney parts) that take longer to thaw. Could be the mouse was still too cold.

Husbandry temps should be 82-84* cool side, and 92-94* hot side.

Im feeding him those little white fuzzy ones...it was the same size as the other one i fed him...but this time...some how he couldn't get it down.It was probably the way he was trying to eat it...but he just got tired and gave up.
I think the mouse was warm enough it wasn't cold or anything.

I have a little thermometer..but i will get a digital one soon.
I dont have trouble
keeping the temp up in the day...just at night is the problem.
