Hi this is my snake is this a BP or somehting else...

    Hi
This is my snake , i hope its a BP but its size really worries me a bit. Some one told me it might be a baby burmese which i doubt really.
He/ She is doing ok , shed well and now is ready to eat again .

    Hi
No just that i though they are smaller. Have seen some pics and they all seemed much smaller in size then mine. One thing is good that its not a burmese. No offense but the idea to have a 10ftpls snake in the house is bit daring to my opinion.
I honestly believe that some people who own these giant snakes , just over feed them to make them grow bigger and fattier. Snakes in the wild go without food for months untill they find a pray , so i guess in captivity the feeding regime should be in harmony with the growth of the snake. I am just saying this cose i saw a pic on this forum of a guy with 2 massive burmese pythons who just obeise by the meaning of the word . To own a snake is to respect these reptiles and take good care of them not to treat them like feeding machines....
    Ok enough of this .
    Bye

err dude they dont grow to 10ft, i belive that 6ft is the max and that normal a female due to the fact they have to have eggs inside them. they norm grow to about 5ft so i have been told.

also as said before thats 1 nomal BP. dude read the forums and learn all about the snake and how to look after prop dont be a owner that wants a a snake for a show item its living and isent right to do..

    nice looking BP though.

I think he was referring to burm's and other large breeds when he mentioned 10 feet.

Contrary to what he's saying though, I've never seen a burm that was proportionally "fatter" than they were long. They are massive animals by nature though...

Quite nice looking ball python. If you can find someone...either an experienced herp vet, a breeder of ball python or a good hobbyist...it might be a nice thing to have it sexed. Males tend to stay smaller than females but even the biggest female ball python isn't a very huge snake. Our biggest female right now is Brannagh whose 5 feet long and a bit over 3,200 grams. Congratulations on the lovely ball python.

    Hey,

Is he going into shed or is it just the picture?

Just thought his eyes looked a little bluey.

Not all snakes are designed to be slim either. A cornsnake would look anemic next to a burmese in good flesh.
Balls are slimmer than burmese in looks, and they will not get 10 feet long. That's why I love ball pythons so much! I can't handle a 14 foot snake here by myself, but my ball pythons won't ever grow too big for me to handle!
    Congrats on your ball python!
