Didnt even bother killing his food

This guy has been sitting near my feeding tweezers for 2 days now. so I picked up a middle of the week snack for him, and I may be moving up from the hoppers I've been feeding him. He struck and just started swallowing. It was a live fuzzy. I thought about breaking it up but he kept pushing it's head into the corner to get it down. Ended up just letting him take it.



I've seen burmese take birds down like this (on youtube) so I assume theres no harm. Having said that.. No I didn't somehow try to recreate something that happened on youtube...

I've never had a ball python swallow food without killing it first, but that's what my cornsnake and milksnakes usually do, unless I really wiggle it around and make them chase it around the cage first, then they have to "kill" it. With something that size I wouldnt worry, and hopefully once he moves up to larger prey, if you're still feeding live, he'll be smart enough to strangle it first so it wont bite back!

Oh I've never had a problem with him not constricting his food before. I would guess that he didn't this time since the fuzzy was small and did not make any real noticeable fuss, but who knows
