New to Ball Python`s... NEED Help

Hi Everyone...
Iam new to this hobby and would like to have some help . I recently bought a ball python (I tHINK) from a local pet store . You know us in the Middel East these type of animals if brought in the country cost a fortune. But i felt so bad for the poor fella so i got him. It has been 2 weeks no and i noticed that he is already starting to shed his skin, his eyes are already turning bluish and the belly is bright pink.
My only concern is how to care for these snakes , any help?Also how big can a ball python be mine is 1m20.

You THINK its a ball python?? Nobody can really help you with husbandry requirements until you post a picture and get the snake correctly identified.

Have a look at the picture forum for ball pythons here as well as the husbandry forum for identification and how to care for your snake properly. Ball pythons need fairly strict temperatures and humidity and tend to be shy, nocturnal and easily stressed snakes. If you can post pictures of your snake that would be good. Welcome to BPNet!

The reason why i believe that its a ball python is because i have made a research , seen pics , read and read and it looks like one.I am sure its not not a burmese (I hope ) and not a reticulated one too.
About Climate , i live in the Middel east and the cimat here is very humide and hot so would i need to put in heater and humidifier to keep him alive

To decide what your snake needs basically you have to know what you have as far as the numbers. I know we can't tell you to run out to WalMart and grab a digital thermometer (somehow I doubt you've been overrun with WalMarts as we are here LOL). If you can locate, however, a digital temperature and humidity measuring device you need to figure out what the temperature is at both ends of the enclosure and the overall humidity of the enclosure. Then you can make the adjustments necessary.

This is what our Acu-Rites look like. Basically they are intended for non-snakekeeping uses and we've just discovered they fit our needs for a very reasonable cost.

With this particular unit, if you push a button it switches from Time, Temp and Humidity to IN TEMP (what the unit itself reads), OUT TEMP (what the probe reads) and HUMIDITY so works really well in a snake enclosure application. Hopefully you have something similar available in your home country.

Your snake also needs a safe substrate. Again I'm unsure of what your local availability is but things like aspen bedding, newspaper, papertowelling work great. Avoid anything with pine or cedding bedding in it...that's not good for your snake's health. Ball pythons like to hide so one hide for each side of the enclosure. Hides should be barely bigger than your snake's size when coiled up so the snake basically can touch all sides of the hide, dark and easy to clean in case the snake uses his hide for a bathroom. Often things like a simple plastic cereal bowl work beautifully - just melt or cut an entrance in them and you've got a lovely snake hide.

If possible pictures of the snake and the enclosure would be helpful so we could help you with specific things.

I have read some great artciles here on this web site and i think what i will do first is get a big platic crate and keep the snake there with a hidding box and water . For humidity again i live in the ME so its very humid here already , what i could do i get a sponge with water and leave it in the crate that will somehow create humidity ..
Can anyone tell me if there are any webs site were i can buy all the requierd stuff from that would be just prfect .
Pics are on the way of my snake , but at the moment i think he is refusing to eat and drink ... strange ... i know he has started to shed
