i'm going up north to lac du flambeau indian reservation (where my fam is from) for bear river powwow!!! can't wait! i haven't been to bear river in 3 years!!! i used to go every year but the last few something has come up and i couldn't make the 4 hour trip. but this year.... I"M GOING!!! my fiance matt will be going up with me. he's never been up there with me so i have to show him off to all my cousins! lol.

also, one of my cousins is a chaplain so we're planning on asking him to marry us next summer! that would be so cool....

anyways, anybody else gonna be there? i know i've seen some people from the area.....

I have read a little about Lac de flambeau, we had to do a short essay on Native American tribes people in school and included was Chippewa Indians. Sounds like a beautiful place, looking forward to seeing some quality pics when you get a chance to post them. Enjoy your holidays

yeah, i'll definitely post some! might not be able to get many pics of the actual powwow though, because it's considered very disrespectful to take a pic of something so sacred without permission from all the parties involved. but for sure, i'll get as many pics of the rez as i can! so gorgeous! there's almost 200 lakes!
