Question Cleaning around the mother hen?

What do you guys suggest I do to clean around Mama Mila while she is with her clutch?? Now I know that you all incubate your eggs, but as most of you know that this happened to me very unexpectedly & we are doing wonderfully just letting mama do her thing.....Since I am spraying more than usual, I am worried about mold & mildew in her cage & do not want to stress her out by cleaning around her, but I want to clean!!

Any suggestions on how I should keep things tidy without disruption?

    Thanks!
    ~Shari

Re: Cleaning around the mother hen?

I am so anal retentive.....I couldn't wait, I cleaned slowly & quietly, but I didn't clean near her hide, she probably woulda taken a bite outta my hand, she hasn't bit me in the 6 years that I've had her, & I've never seen her so touchy, so I'll just let her be. I thought I heard a noise come from her & it didn't sound like a hiss.
But anyway, I feel better now that I cleaned even a little bit

    Ahhh, you know the feelin'

You can gently place a towel over her (all of her) and slowly clean. Just keep an eye out. Their sneekie and will creap out from under it and get ya.

i'll do that next time...she kept sticking her head out, flicking her tongue my way as if to say "eh hem.... excuse me, what do you think you are doing?" But being my sweet baby she let me go without striking at me. I love her!

    Thanks,
    ~Shari
