    Has anyone here ever..

Bought a ball from a regular/exotic pet store, at a regular price, and have come to find out or noticed there, that really its a morph? It happend to me twice- my first snake I thought was a normal, untill someone that I know that works w/ snakes told me she was a Granite (then after some research I realized he was right). Then with my second snake I noticed right away that he was a yellow-belly, and grabbed him up. (Hes got the yellow-belly, the light spot on the head, the works- he BEAUTIFUL! They both are..) And I was right about him..
I thought this was kinda strange, and wanted to see if thats ever happend to any of you? I know I just got lucky, and I wanna see of anyone else had too.

They may appear to be a granite or a yellow belly but until you breed them you can't be sure they are genetically able to pass on that trait or the super form of those particular morphs. You'll have to let us know how that works out down the road.

Just because his belly is yellow, doesn't necessarily mean he's a yellow belly. The ones I've seen have a very distinct pattern at the edges of the belly, and the belly is very clean.

But I recently found a young pastel male at my local petshop that someone had traded in for a turtle. Mxrider has him now.

More to come later, I still have to breed her out, but I did buy a normal female at a show last year. After looking at her closer, and having some other people look at her, I'm about 99% sure that she is a Het. Red Axanthic. Hopefully we will see next year.

    Isn't red axanthic a co-dom trait?

Yes, That is why I said I had a Het. Red. That is what the Heterozygous form is called.
