    Boy went missing

...a few days ago. He got at least a day's head start on me, and I'm 99% positive he's not in the room where his enclosure is kept. I've been looking everywhere. Just wanted to know if anyone had some suggestions of places I may not have thought to look. Starting to get really worried.

In the cracks and wedges of the furniture... -lol- (see my last post) Seriously though, look around the room and if you see ANY tiny holes, or places that make you go "he couldnt be there..." Look there. Work out from the cage in a radius, a little at a time. From what I've seen, MOST of the time, they're within like 10 feet of the cage. Dont forget he could possibly be above eye level too.

    Good luck. *crosses fingers*

    Re: Boy went missing

I recently read that someone placed a familiar hide on the ground and the snake returned to it.... also, I think someone suggested scenting the room w/ a live mouse/rat and waiting to see if they come out. Another person posted somewhere that they turned EVERYTHING off at night... fans, AC, anything that made "background" noise... and just listened. They heard their snake going through paper in a closet I believe... and found it.

    Best of luck honey! *hugs*

The listening thing is definitely a good idea. And I've heard success stories about the rat scenting.

    Oh no

I've had good luck with providing a warm place...like an electric blanket...in a dark place and checking it first thing in the morning. Hoping for the best

I actually had an escapee not too long ago, found that sukra under the oven!

He wasn't out that long but managed to make his way there from an upstairs bedroom.

    Best of luck finding him!

Thanks guys. I hope he's still upstairs! I'll try the heating pad and the hide idea. I actually had a dream last night that I found him and woke realizing I hadn't.

    Re: Boy went missing

Wow you guys aren't going to believe this... I started looking again upstairs even though I had pretty much given up hope of him being there after I posted this... I turned on the lights in the upstairs bathroom, and he scattered back into the TINY space between the cabinet and the wall where he'd been hiding. I tried to get a hold of his tail but he wedged himself in pretty good and started hissing at me. I put one of his hides right outside of the crack and turned off the lights, so hopefully he'll decide to go into it.

Thanks so much! I wouldn't have even kept looking in that area!

    Re: Boy went missing

That's great! You might want to BP-proof any other hiding spots... it would be too frustrating if he found a new hide and was "lost" all over again! LOL

I lost my boy for over a week- Id looked everywhere- under the washer & dryer & hot water heater, In the matress & couch- everywhere. I even tryed a mouse & flour on the floor and it didnt woek. Finnally, I just put his cage on the ground w/o the light on, and doors off, and two days later I found him coiled up in one of his hides
