Why does my Bp have dull patches?

I got my BP about a month and a hlf ago and when In the first week of having him he went into shedding. He is only about 4 months now but then he was 3. But after a week of shedding process he pulled off the skin and I dunno if he pulled off too much or its a skin condition but he has areas that look like they are dull instead of shiny kinda like the shed may have pulled off the shiny smooth scales! Is that a problem? He has been eating fine and all seems normal other than he looked like he was going to shed again 3 days ago his eyes were milky white or filmy looking again and now they are back to normal!

Re: Why does my Bp have dull patches?

    Hi,

It sounds like your lil guy is about to shed any time now then.

Make sure the humidity is around 60-70% to help him and he should hopefully have no problems.

When you say it took him a week last time do you mean a week from when you noticed his skin starting to come off? - that might indicate your humidity was a bit too low so check it if you can.

Best thing to use is the accurite weather stations with the outdoor probe or somehting similar.

Remember in most of these things it is the actual unit itself where humidity is read rather than at any probes.

I'm not sure on the dull areas you mentioned - a pic might help if possible.

They are probably just rough spots where he scraped the new skin getting the old one off and nothing to worry about but if you can give us amny more information we will try and make sure.

    Hey,

Well my old eyes can't make out enough detail in the pictures I'm afraid.

What kind of setup are you using at the moment to see what we can suggest to increase the humidity? Also how are you measuring it (as those little circular things aren't really good for anything)?

Re: Why does my Bp have dull patches?

This Is the side of the first half it contains his rock hide house in middle his water pool or dish of non-chlorinated water to soak and part of a log I fitted inside the tank!

This is the picture of the whole tank u can see how it is set up left to right. His pool, then hide in shed rock, a small drinking dish in middle back, a small log hide away, big log from one side to other w/ thermometers on both sides and hygrometer in middle, and a mini tree behind the log. There is a heating pad under the log hide and basking lamp on same side above!

This is front of the 1st half the rock hide is right now his favorite spot and he's inside it now! Humidity is supposed to be higher inside it but I dunno it has misted moss inside it!

As u can see u were right he is inside shedding now!

This is a view of 1st half from the top!

This is the 2nd side from the top!

This is the second side from the side. U can see the mini tree side of log and the log hide this side is the heated side! Should the Hide be on the heated or unheated side tho?

    2nd half from the front
The log hide, log to climb, mini tree and small drinking dish!

Ok question when I first got him I was unknowingly givin him untreated tap water could that have caused the skin patches that are dull?
