    Question Shedding Questionz

hello ya'll, i just bought a baby ball python (first snake ever) about a month ago. i have researched about the shedding process and i usually find the same process. My baby doesnt look like he's ready to shed yet....i havent seen dulling of the skin or opaqueness of the eyes yet..but ocassionally i do see his eyes change from looking fully black and clear, to a faded lookin green were i can see his slit shaped pupil..i think this is just his eye color, but also, i am starting to notice that a few individual scales are becoming dry and/or are falling off as if he was ready to shed(especially on his stomach side)opposed to his whole body becoming dull at once. he is eating normally, and he seems healthy and active. is this normal or should i see the clinic or wut? plz submit your thoughts....

    Re: Shedding Questionz

    First off, Welcome to BP.net!!

Secondly...individual scales coming off as you describe may be cause for concern. It's certainly not normal or common. Is there any discoloration involved besides a "dryness?" And can you describe your setup? What kind of substrate are you using? How are you heating it? How are you measuring the temps? And any other details you think would help us to picture your setup. (Pictures are great, too! LOL) And one last question...have you ever rubbed any sort of oil-based product on your snake for any reason?
