    She was HUNGRY !!

So, I have been feeding my new BP once a week since I got her, little baby mice/pre killed, and it's been going alright; I've had her for almost two months now and she has yet to miss a meal - but it normally takes her anywhere from 10-15 minutes to actually go after the mouse and take it down. I practice safe feeding habits by using tongs to gently dance the mouse around near her and put it in the cage .... well last night, she must have been 'in the routine' because I hadn't even let the mouse go, and had it dangling for maybe 3 seconds and she snatched it right out of my tongs.......she's still a bity baby, around 2 1/2 feet, but man o man did I feel the POWER!

What size mice are you feeding her? You say "little baby mice"...but if that's the case, then you're feeding way too small. Even a newly hatched BP can take bigger prey than that. Yours should be eating adult mice.

I agree, by the sounds of it you are feeding too smaller prey. I feed my 07 female adult mice once a week or 2 fat rat pups twice a week. In fact even my new bp which is younger than my female gets one fat rat pup per week.

Mice pinkies are tiny! even fluffs seemed to small in comparison to the size of his head. Make sure you are feeding a large enough prey so your BP doesnt go unsatisfied!

    Re: She was HUNGRY !!

well, maybe they aren't babies, they are small; but I'm really not familiar with mice (used to have rats as pets way back in the day ..) the mouse is probably 2 1/2 inches long .. does that sound like a 'baby' or an 'adult'? I just go in and ask for a 'feeder mouse', and that's what they give me (that's what they were feeding my BP when I bought her. Should I be feeding her something bigger?

Ok, I think I need to re - evaluate her meals ... her head and neck just seem so tiny, it seems so crazy to think she could fit anything bigger in there!

Ok....if you ask for a "feeder mouse" chances are they give you adult mice.
