    Broken Leg :(

So I went to pick up frankie today and I noticed one of his legs looks mangled and twisted as if it is broken. I called the reptile vet and she doesn't have any appointments until after the 4th of july.

Is there anything I can do to to help the little guy between now and then? He looks stressed, he has dropped a little weight and maybe I'm just worrying but his tail even looks a little smaller! I had him out sunday and he was fine so whatever this is that is wrong with him is new. Any advice will help!

may not be broken, may just be metabolic bone disease are you giving her enough calcium and vitamin d3?

    Re: Broken Leg :(

is it possible that he has metabolic bone disease? this would be caused by a lack of calcium and possibly other nutrients. is there anything in his enclosure that he could have injured himself on? they don't normally break bones unless they are weakened by mbd or something traumatic happens.

you really shouldn't wait until after july 4th--by then the bone will already be healing in the position that it is in now and any underlying causes may have had time to further develop. are there any other vets you can try?
