How are you measuring that it is just a little warmer then room temp? By this I mean what is the UTH attached to and where is the temperature sensor probe?

if it really is at room temp then it does sound like maybe the heating elements are damaged. those things can reach 110 degrees if not controlled with a thermostat or a dimmer.

i would put a thermometer probe on it and see what you get. 100 degrees F is not really "hot to the touch", so it could be heating up but just not feel that way. i would check it with a thermometer.

Ok if it is warm to the touch then it IS above room temp. Your body is 98.6 degrees so if it feels warm to touch it is above 98.6 degrees (little trick). I would say you are higher then you think. I would wait till you get the thermometer before you return it...just to make sure.

Just a little advice about reaching and monitoring temps:

Your hand is not a thermometer
