    My BPs first shed

Well when i went to take my BP out last night I found a perfect shed under his hide along with a nice wet poo right next to it. Thank god no poo on his shed because its so cool looking. Came off all in one piece, can see his mouth, eye holes, and design in it. I measured it to be about 18 inches. I was very proud to see that my work seems to be paying off. And ya im definately keeping his shed skin and maybe hang it up on my wall... ITS TOO COOL

don't put it directly under the CHE, CHE's along with heatlamp are notorious for drying up the air with the heat. I would get a bowl with a larger surface area and put it in the middle, or slightly towards the cool side so the ambient temps can raise humidity without too much of it being dried out from the heat source.

    Re: My BPs first shed

My BP charlie's eyes just turned blue about two days ago, and i am waiting for him to shed now! i dont really know what to expect, but he is staying in his hides...going from one to the other, and he looks really clowdy and not really clear. I hope everything is good...the humidity is about 70%. How long do they normally stay in this stage? he also ate yesterday but missed the first strike. Anyways, i'll keep you posted! and i plan on keeping my shed as well

    Re: My BPs first shed

I think I was actually out of town when my BP went into blue. I was in Orlando for a few days and I was calling my mom periodically to make sure she was checking up on his humidity and temperature. I thought he would probably be going into shed soon because it felt like it should be about time, and I thought he was starting to show a little dullness but no blue eyes or anything. I just lifted up his hide off of him to the other day and there was his shed and poop. But I beleive they are usually in blue for about 3 days then eyes go back to normal and they shed in a day or 2.

    Re: My BPs first shed

i don't use a heatlamp, i have a che on my coolside, and a uth on my warmside, i had the small exoterra water dish in there, the one that looks like rock, i took it out and put in my large terra dish, that the girl at the pet store suckered me into btw lol, the large dish is in the middle towards the cool side with about a half to a quarter of the water dish under the che, it's keeping my humidity around 60% with no misting, im finally gonna post pics tonight, cause ive been waiting for 2 weeks for my wife to get my digital camera back here
