    Ferrets

Well we were thinking about getting a ferret and i had a few questions

First how easy are they to keep and take care of??

would giving them a bath at least once a month and cleaning there cage very often keep the smell down a little??

Are they better to get as babies from a private breeder??

Do they like alot of attention??

Id also like to see any pics people wanna share or advice, stories or stuff about ferrets.

    Re: Ferrets

    First off hi
Ferrets are very easy to care for , they love to play and like lots of exercise

Some people bathe them , i do but not very often...once a month should be ok , but too much bathing will make them smell even stronger , im used to the smell and it dosent bother me . ferrets are very clean animals.. mine has never soiled his bedding he does it as far away as possible on the other side of his enclosure , ferrets can also very easily be litter trained

i would defiantly go to a private breeder and pick up a baby from there

and yes they love as much attention as possible they are like a cross between a cat and a dog in there habits very mischevious and cheeky lol
there latin name Mustela putorius furo actually means smelly thief lol
they love to steal things and hoard there loot in a secret place

where are you based as in some states in the usa ferrets are illegal, im in the uk so no such laws for me
this is a pic of Fergus my Red eyed white hob hes 9 years old and will be 10 in a few months from now

ps dont belive the nasty rep they have ive never been bitten by fergus or any other ferret

    Re: Ferrets

i only have one fert unfortantly but thats due to her being ferret mean. i tried to get her a friend but she made him all bloody then i tried a male and she did the same thing.

it is better to get two so they will have another ferret to play with. mine is a house runner sept when shes eating going to the bath room or sleeping other then that she had run of the house. lots of toys and she loves going for swims in her kiddie pool outside specailly when her toys are in there.
