    st. louis bird show.

Does anyone know when the next bird fair/show is in st. louis? I am looking to get a bird for a low price. My friends said the last one they went to, they found low priced birds and cages.
    We have:
two 4 ft BP's, Freddy and Kurt,
    one 2ft BP, Ringo
one 2ft (almost 3ft) red tailed boa.

    Re: st. louis bird show.

I realize you're just asking when an upcoming expo will take place, however...

    [soapbox]
Have you & your friends done research on what kind of birds you're looking for, and what the care requirements are for the particular species? Birds are a horrible impulse buy - many are high maintenance & need consistent attention.

Wanting any bird at a low price is usually not the best way to get off on the right foot when keeping them as pets...you often get what you pay for (i.e. problem animal, one that's not well, etc). Do lots & lots of homework, figure out what species you can properly accommodate & care for, and then look around online to see what average prices are, THEN go back, do a lot more homework and decide if you're truly ready to make the commitment of bird ownership. Please don't just jump in on a whim.
    [/soapbox]

    Good luck!

    Re: st. louis bird show.

I have decided on either an African Grey, a Mini Macaw, a Conure, or an Amazon. My personal favorite is the African Grey. My friends recommended looking at a show but I haven't found any on the net in my area.
