    my first feeding

i just got my bp almost a week ago.
today is the scheduled day to feed her, ill make a stop at the store after work.

any advice on how to accomplish this successfully?

i have the box she came in, i was told to put her food in there and not in the cage and let her eat it in the box.

    advice would be great.

    Lucy says thanks! : )

    Re: my first feeding

It's not necessary to feed her in a separate box and doing it in her enclosure may actually increase the chances that she'll eat.

intresting advice. I only say that cause everyone ive talked to has told me to NOT put the food in the housing with the snake.

is there a reason for this?
    whats the difference?

I think it really just depends on the snake itself and personal preference. I, personally, have always fed my girl in a separate enclosure, and she's never refused a meal--but then she's a very good eater and not very skittish, either. If yours is more skittish, then maybe you should try in her enclosure, so she feels safer, like darkangel said. I'm not disputing anything, just putting in my .

    Re: my first feeding

BPs like to hunt from their hides and ambush their prey. Most pet stores will tell you to use a box but it's really not necessary unless there is some problem with them eating in their enclosure. Don't buy the "your snake will associate your hand with food" excuse... If you handle your snake regularly, that's not likely to happen.
