That's a nice looking boy. Are the white pattern borders towards his stomach really that pronounced or is that just the effect of the flash on the camera?

The camera does make the whites look very bright. But, looking at him now he does have a very distinct white outline that comes up around each "alien head".
Yours looks very shiny and richly colored.

You might give him a place to hide on the cool side. With that peice of wood you might be able to rig up a long, skinny hide that has a temperate gradient inside of it. I've had some success with that.
