    Shedding Query

I have had Holly for a little over a month now. She has been eating OK - refused one meal but has eaten weekly since - but I am worried about her shed.

She shed last week - but it was very messy. I checked her to make sure there was no loose skin on her and noticed a little bit just below her head.

I gave her a bath and did the usual with a washcloth to help loosen the skin and it seemed to help. Since then, I have noticed that it looks like she is ready to shed again as she didnt shed the skin on her head at all.

I have no idea what to do other than take her to see my vet. Will she just shed the head area? It is noticable now that the skin is still there.
I have never had this problem with my corns and Holly is my first Ball.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

It might help us help you better if you could answer a few questions about your set up.

What is the humidity in Hollys tank? Does she have a "humid hide"?

Ant other details you would care to share might also be usefull to check everything else is ok (like the temperatures and a description of how everyhting is put together).

    Re: Shedding Query

Holly is in a tub - not sure of the size as I am at work. She has a UTH under one side with a hide above that. She also has a water bowl.

She always seems very active - not at all how I was lead to believe they were like.

I do not have a temp/humidity or thermostat hooked up to it. Though I have one spare. As she is in a tub, I have no idea how to monitor it.

    Re: Shedding Query

Im Not quite an expert but you should definantly have a way to moniter The temp and HUmidity in her tub, and when she goes into shed u should keep the humidity at at least 70% this will help her shed better.

Also if ball pythons are active a lot and dont stay in their hide it usually means that they are stressed out or they are searching for something, do you have 2 identical hides one on the cool side of the tank and one on the warm side?
