    Re: Just Ate!

thats sweet.. my new baby hasnt eaten for me quite yet but i think i might of offered too big a mouse. Looking at the skinny neck on my snake the mouses body was probably twice that of his neck and a about the size of the snakes body (didnt look like it in the store when i bought the mouse but lookin at them at home it looked maybe too big). This is my first snake though so im really not sure what they can handle. Im definately going to look for somethin smaller next time tho because i just want to see him eat something. He was looking at it for maybe 30 seconds like he might take it and then he slithered on by it so it might just have felt like it was too big a prey (i tried holding it by its tail in front of him and wiggling it a little to possibly get a reaction).

It was a live mouse, it was a young but i think a lil bigger than a fuzzy. I felt really bad for the mouse but im very happy that my snake ate right away i feel relieved.

You would be surprised by what they can take. They will stretch out SO far to get something down.
